Paperlily Studio was created by Lily Nie, a designer and illustrator from Australia. Raised by wild plant biologist parents, this manifested in her kinship with the natural world. A dreamer, nature enthusiast and part-time drawer, Lily’s work explores her longing for adventure and a deeper connection to the natural world.
With nature as her inspiration she layers her work with texture and organic patterns, capturing a certain mood through portraits or landscapes with surrealist themes. Her work is often dreamy and positive, each piece carefully crafted with a balanced composition and harmonious colour palette.
